Technology Helps Us Soar

There are many inspiring quotes on technology and here is one; by Daniel Bell, a professor at Harvard University; that strikes a chord with us: “Technology like art is a soaring exercise of the human imagination.” Throughout our history, there have been several instances of how technology has helped us surpass expectations and delight customers with innovative products & services.

Why is technology important?
As a manufacturing company, we know that technology is integral and critical to our purpose because it helps us:

  • Reach customers faster, and more efficiently

  • Track our production processes and make continuous improvements too

  • Standardise our high quality and keep it repeatable

  • Communicate with all our employees, wherever they may be

  • Stay on course in our mission to supply the best products to our customers

For most businesses, technology also helps reduce costs, wastage, and failures. It also helps improve quality control, provides relevant business intelligence, and smoothens communication processes.

Texmo Industries and Technology
It is not a stretch to say that our relationship with technology started in 1956 when our founder came back to India after a decade-long stay in England. He returned with a degree in Electrical Engineering & almost immediately started manufacturing motors & pumps.

Just ten years later, Texmo Industries harnessed product design and technology to add fins to our motors. This not only gave the motors a unique look but also improved product efficiency tremendously. Through our existence, we have also brought out new products with the help of technology. From the very first borewell submersible pump in 1976 and the openwell submersible pump in 1984 to the WB3 last year, we have stayed the course when it comes to having a great working partnership with innovative technology.

Going beyond products
Our pumps and motors were not the only ‘beneficiaries’ of technology. Our company also realised that info-tech is going to revolutionise every aspect of our operations and in 1980, we took to computers in a big way too. And we are delighted to say that we were the first to do in our region.

Then came a deeper commitment to engineering design. Our company is hugely focused on designing products that are flawless and efficient. So, in 1990, we dove into 2D CAD technology that left a massive positive impact on the way we work.

We invested in an R & D lab in 1998. One of the main tasks of the lab is to test modern technologies, and process improvements. And with all this focus on technology, we became the first pump manufacturer to extend a warranty, a two-year warranty at that, for products.

A software-based approach in 2010 helped us harness Computational Fluid Dynamics to improve the design of our pumps. And in recent times, we have continued to soar with technology in almost every sphere of work – the curriculum at our Texmo academy, medical facilities at our Ramana Gounder Hospital, the launch of our new website, and most importantly, improving the customer experience at our stores.

The future is indeed exciting in many ways, for we have the commitment to deploying technology and we have the right people who can imagine the best ways to harness this technology.
