Monoblock Pump Buyers Guide

Centrifugal Monoblock Pumps gain their name due to the fact that they work through a centrifugal force from its centrifugal electric motor.

In this guide you will find:

  • What Centrifugal Monoblock Pumps are used for?
  • What the right Centrifugal Monoblock Pump is for you?
  • Whether you need a Centrifugal Monoblock Pump?
  • Installation information.

What are Centrifugal Monoblock Pumps Used For?

Centrifugal Monoblock pumps are used for the following applications:

  • Domestic and community water supply
  • Industrial water supply
  • Irrigation for agriculture
  • Cattle fars
  • Cooling water circulating systems

Which Centrifugal Monoblock Pump Do I Need?

When looking for the right Centrifugal Monoblock, it is important to start with where/ what setting you will be using it, be it at home, within your community, agriculturally or industrially. Find out more below.

Domestic

If you are looking to use a Centrifugal Monoblock domestically then it will be most likely for the water supply, either in your home or for the entire community.

Due to these needs, you will usually need Monoblock in the power region of 0.5 to 2 HP.

Agriculture

Centrifugal Monoblock pumps are most frequently used for irrigation and cattle farming when used in agriculture.

A typical power requirement in this area would be 2 to 30 HP.

Industrial

Industrial Centrifugal Monoblock pumps are used primarily to provide a water supply to the industry or to be used for Cooling water circulating systems.

Typical power requirements in this area would range from 1 to 30 HP.

TMH 63 G, TMH 39 M, TMS 14 X

When is a Centrifugal Monoblock Pump Not Right for Me?

Under certain conditions, a Centrifugal Monoblock pump might not be the most suitable option for the job.  The following situations may mean that a Centrifugal Monoblock may not be suitable:

  • The suction head (vertical distance of the water source from the pump) exceeds 20 feet
  • Need to change the resting bed of the pump (agricultural applications) according to changing water level in the well (to get the suction head to within 20 feet)

Alternatives to a Centrifugal Monoblock

For domestic applications, the above is an alternate for those who want to eliminate suction head issues. As an Open Well submersible pump, this has zero suction head and operates underwater which makes it noiseless. This pump eliminates pump-priming issues. This does not need any special provision for protection from rainfall or dust.

For agricultural applications, Open Well submersible pump is a very good alternate as it offers these advantages:

  • Eliminates suction head issues
  • Eliminates fixing of foot valve and eliminates pump-priming issues
  • Eliminates the need to constantly change the resting bed of the pump due to changing water levels during monsoon and summer and in between

Installation Information

Centrifugal Monoblock pumps must be installed by certified and experienced technicians only.  This is not a job for untrained persons. This involves safety and operational protocols specified by manufacturer, EB, and government bodies (local, state, and central).

They are installed on a dry surface protected from rainfall. They operate and pump water from the source to the intended storage/usage through an electrical motor and pump, connected via a single shaft (Monoblock). We have provided a step-by-step guide with video, which explains the process of installation in simple terms. Click this link.
